Hotel

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Pickwick Hotel ( 85 – 5^th Street, (415)421-7500 ), across 5th Street from the Mint. The negotiated rate is $84/night plus tax. Ask for the Sales department, and request the block of rooms reserved for the “Old Mint Coin Show”. The hotel rooms are on the small side but very comfortable and well appointed. There is no parking discount for those staying at the hotel.

There are other hotels within walking distance of the Mint. The Parc 55 is another, more upscale option.

Parking

Parking is available across the street at the Metro Garage. Parking is roughly $3 per hour, with a max of $32 per day. Parking is also available at the Pickwick Hotel, across the street for the same rate.

There is also parking available further down 5th Street (approx. 2 blocks) for $10 per day.

BART from the Airport

Taking BART from/to the SF airport is an easy and economical alternative to a cab. The cost is $8.10 compared to approx. $30 for a cab ride (each way). Exit at the Powell Street Station which leaves you ½ block from the Old SF Mint.

Food/Beverage

Food and beverages will be offered for lunch during the show. More details to follow.

There are many restaurants within walking distance from the Old Mint. Please let me know if you would like some restaurant recommendations.
